what to expect
9am Around the Table Discipleship Series
On Sunday mornings at 9am, several individuals at Grace are leading small groups to discuss and go through different topics to encourage your growth as disciples of Jesus. Some groups will meet indoors, outdoors, go through books, create art, practice skills, etc. Learn more about the meeting groups below and contact the leader if interested in joining.
God the Artist Series // Starting sept 26
Leaders: Jen Mancier, Adara Wright, Joy Morykon, Kirsten Donohue and Jenna Sosa
This fall, several artists from the Grace body will be leading an exploration of prayer and artistic expression. We will follow the theme of ACTS: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication. Over the course of 8 weeks, we will create together, listen to the Lord, and pray while we create visual expressions of the inner work the Lord is leading us through.
Come join us for this Around the Table Gathering beginning September 26. $10 fee for materials. You don’t need to be an artist to join this group. Each of us was made in the image of our God who is the Creator and we can all learn to respond to Him with beauty. Men and women are invited to participate. Email Kirsten at email@example.com.
God the Creator
Leaders: Carole Stone
The beauty of a sunset, the majesty of the ocean, the wonder of a newborn baby – God’s glorious creation is all around us. And we ourselves are part of that creation! Everything we can see, and everything we can’t see – it all came from God.” This will be a time of seeing how God’s creation weaves its way through our days and seasons of life.
We will have hands on fun with no cost and meeting every other Sunday starting with September 19th. We will use the Bible as our text and all of nature as our source of inspiration! Contact Carole to join at firstname.lastname@example.org or (434) 665-9722.
Jesus the Carpenter and His Design For Your Mansion
Leaders: Phil Germeroth
Was Jesus indeed a Carpenter? If so then what would He have built as a carpenter in First century Israel? What kind of tools and materials were available? Why did God choose to be a carpenter? Jesus spent most of His earthly life in His first vocation. How did straining His muscles from lifting heavy loads, nursing calloused, cracked, splinter ridden, purple fingernail hands prepare Him for His public ministry?
During our nine week study, we will focus on Jesus from a different angle. We will discover rich spiritual truths from the Master’s trade and His design for YOUR mansion! For ladies and gentlemen, from High school age and older. Contact Phil Germeroth at 434-610-6450 or PJGermeroth@verizon.net.
Love Your Neighbor
Leaders: Jimmy Kirshberger
Are you wanting to become more involved in the lives of your neighbors? Come discuss how to invite the Holy Spirit into your interactions with your neighbors, how to live openly as disciples of Jesus, and how to obey the two great commandments to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself. Email Jimmy at email@example.com.
Praying With Focus
Leaders: Jim and Shelley Scranton
Every week except on Communion Sundays, Oct 03 and Nov 07
“These are the times that tries men’s souls.” These words were penned by Thomas Paine at the time when the American Colonies sought independence from the tyranny of the British.
These words are apt to the unrest that we are experiencing in our nation and our world today. There is rampant fear, divisiveness, immorality, deception and lies spreading. As believers, what are we to do?
We are instructed to put on the Full Armor of God not only for our protection from the spiritual forces of wickedness, but also to stand up and pray for others, for our church, for our leaders, and for those throughout the nation and the world.
Therefore, let’s put on the Full Armor of God and “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (Ephesians 6:18)
Come and join us as we pray for our local body at Grace and also pray for current world events and the global church. We will alternate weeks—praying locally one week and globally the next.

We will explore various disciplines together and share our experiences. Email Dea at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Women's Book Study: Breaking Free from Body Shame
Leaders: Kelly Davenport
Sept 19 – Nov 07
Your body is good. God said so. We can process the negative names we’ve received, rest from work of striving, experience restoration and renewal through worship, and lead our generation to revival in Jesus’ name. Join me in this book club to dive deeper into this message in the book Breaking Free from Body Shame by Jess Connolly. Purchase your own book ahead of time and contact Kelly at email@example.com or (434)665-9723.
Word Centered Connections
Leaders: Jonny and Holly Torrence

9am Breakfast Café
Whether you are attending one of our Around the Table discipleship groups or want to spend time with friends, come enjoy a free breakfast on us of pastries, coffee and hot drinks. This is open for all, no signup required. Food will be served indoors and can be eaten inside at our café area or outside. Outdoor play equipment for children and games for adults will be available too.
10am indoor service
When we gather, you will find casually dressed people who love to be in community together with opportunities to connect, a contemporary music style (with songs written both within our local community and the global church) and teaching from the Bible.
As COVID regulations shift, we will continue to provide a pre-set social distance seating section located at the left side of our Sanctuary.
KINGDOM KIDS MINISTRY
During the Indoor Service, we offer Kingdom Kids, our children’s ministry to glorify God by cooperating with families in helping children become disciples of Jesus Christ.
Children nursery through 5 years old meet in their classrooms from 10-11am. Kindergarteners through third graders are dismissed to their classrooms at 10:30am. Fourth and Fifth graders (JAM) remain in the service.
10:30am Outdoor service
Starting September 19 at 10:30am, Grace will begin offering an Outdoor Worship Service, led by the Teaching and Worship team at Grace. With music, singing and teaching, the outdoor service will share similarities to the indoor service while offering new, interactive and simpler ways to worship together.
Bring a camping chair when you come or feel free to grab one of our folding chairs outside.
Note: Kingdom Kids is not available for this service.
