MULTI-RACIAL FAMILY CONVERSATIONS
Hello Grace Family,
We are the Thomas family, Hassan and Betsy Thomas along with our children; Thomas (25), Zion (18), Trinity (17), Gideon (13), and Aaron (AJ) (11). We have attended Grace for the last 15 years. Over those years we have seen many changes to our Grace family. One of those changes has been the increase of multi-racial families.
In light of the current racial climate of our country and community, we would like to facilitate the discussion that many of us are having in our own homes about race and how we as followers of Christ can be instrumental in building each other up and building up the communities we live in. We know first hand how difficult it can be to raise bi-racial children and would like to lend our experiences both good and bad, to the discussion.
We would begin with prayer and introductions, and would like to give each family the opportunity to voice their concerns and hopes. We would also like to give each family a feeling of community within our body to access a support system of other believers that can assist them as they traverse this difficult season. Ideally, we would like to see multiple meetings like this to enable our Grace family to really come alongside each other and walk together as we raise our children.
