Celebration Sunday // “We Hold These Truths”

We hold these truths…July 4th Celebration Sunday.
Loyalty, Honor, Sacrifice, Freedom, Equality, Joy, Service, Rights, Unity.
We want to celebrate what Jesus says about these concepts that are central to our life as people following the way of Jesus. We want to celebrate who we are as a body of believers who are offering up our lives to the Lord.
You are invited to pray and ask the Lord to speak to you. To give you a word of scripture, a verse of a song to share, a prayer to write, a poem to create, a story to tell. We will be incorporating the “truths we hold” into our July 4 service indoors at 10:00 a.m. and in the party that follows. Please submit anything you would like to share with the body to Kirsten Donohue by June 27.
You are invited to bring your artwork to share with the body at Grace. We are going to be transforming the lobby into an art gallery so that the works of our hands with which we honor the Lord can be shared with others. Please bring your sculptures, paintings, poetry, photography, lego creation, quilts, needlepoint, etc. by Sunday, June 27.
You are invited to share in a Celebration of U.S. meal after church where you can bring the “Best of Food” from where you grew up. (Cajun, Tex-Mex or Midwestern etc.).
You are invited to come dressed up for the holiday and join in our First Ever July 4th Parade. Make a float with your life group, family, and friends and design it around one of these themes of truth. Have your kids decorate their little red wagon, wheel barrel, bike or your lawn tractor, or impress us with something surprising. All float participants will be entered into a raffle for 1st prize for a life group entry: $50 for pizza, 1st Prize for a family $20 for a pizza night, 2nd Place: Mister Goodies gift card, 3rd place: Coffee and goodies for your life group or family.
